1st Edition, 1st printing. 20.5 x 27.7 cm red cloth with black titles to the front and spine, top edge red, glassine endpapers, 87 [1]pp, all but the first 8 pages being photographs of the war effort covering in the early years of World War II covering not just the armed services but also the home front and the effects of the blitz.
A near fine condition book. Internally clean, without name, inscription or bookplate. The dust jacket which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown) is complete but a touch rubbed and dust stained. There is a closed repaired tear of 7cm extending down from the head of the upper joint with some marks from old tape reinforcement on the rear (the tape is no longer present), a 1 cm closed tear on the spine and a 1.5 cm closed tear on the top edge of the upper panel. A very interesting 1st Edition collection of Beaton’s wartime photographs.
