Book Description

‘Ancient Mysteries Described, Especially The English Miracle Plays Founded On Apocryphal New Testament Story’ ~ by William Hone; printed for William Hone by J McCreery, Tooks Court 1823; bound in brown half leather with block label stuck on 8vo, 300pps, plus illustr (illustr to face title is missing) all other illust and gatefolds are present; possible book has been rebound into the leather binding; there is a name written in pencil on inside front page noting “Sarah Brent October 24th 1833”; top of spine is very slightly snagged and hinge of front cover is cracked, some slight user wear on covers, foxing on some pages at front & back, o/w book is tight in the binding and in good condition.
