Published by John C. Nimmo, London, 1899, limted edition of 780 copies. This number 770. Full crimson morocco binding by J. Leighton of London. Five raised bands to spine. Gilt lettering to two compartments, gilt decoration to others,. Gilt borders to front and rear boards, also repeated to the inner dentelles. Teg. 11.25ins x 8ins, marbled endpapers, xxxvii, (i), 396pp plus frontis portrait and 11 tissue guarded plates. Also 22 head and tail piece illustrations within the text. These were etched by L. Boisson from original compositions by C. Delort. Armorial bookplate to front pastedown. 1928 gift inscription to first blank page after the endpapers. Whilst most of the book is fairly clean there is, unfortunately, quite heavy foxing to the preliminary pages and the last 30 pages. A handsome VG binding with G+ contents. Nb book weighs over 2kg - extra postage may be requested.
