Nineteen Eighty Four. First Edition/First Impression (UK) 1949. Original DJ.

Book Description
The original Michael Kennard designed dustjacket is present and is in very good condition. There is some rubbing & light creasing to the front board and some chipping & loss to the edges, notably the top of the spine. There is also some light damp / water staining to the rear of the jacket which does not carry through to the front.
The jacket has not been price-clipped, showing the original ‘10s.net’ price tag to the front flap. It is now housed in a protective archival cover.
The original light green cloth covered boards are in very good condition. There is some very faint damp staining to the front board and light sunning to the edges & head of the spine.
The spine is straight and the binding is tight. The edges of the text block are clean and crisp. The original red top edge stain is present, fading slightly towards the spine.
Internally the pages are clean and free from any previous owners marks or inscriptions. There is some page wrinkling present towards the front of the book (heavier on the first 10 pages and lightening until it clears up at page 35).
