Art Nouveau style decorative title page presumably designed by a different hand. Yorkshireman J. S. Fletcher (1863-1935) was prolific in a range of fields including tales of rural life as here, and detective fiction. Foxed to title page and tissue guard protecting the frontis. Faint toning to the frontis and occasional scattered foxing to margins of text. Tanned to endpapers. Binding is sound.
