Event Information

The PBFA Brighton Book Fair will be held at Brighton Racecourse on Saturday October 30th 2021.  That's one short sentence to write, but it means a great deal to book lovers!  There has not been a book fair in Brighton for over twenty years and we are beginning again in style.  Our professional dealers will be bringing thousands of old books, maps, manuscripts and more to the fair.  All the items are properly described and authentic.

Brighton Racecourse is the perfect venue. It is on the edge of town so driving there is easy. There is limitless free parking. There is a snack bar and cafe so making a day of it is easy too.

Social distancing measures will be in place and all visitors are strongly urged to wear a face covering.

Driving

Brighton Racecourse is easy to reach from the A27 Brighton bypass. If you are approaching Brighton on the A23 you need to go east on the A27. Head for signs directing you to Sussex University and take the B2123 to Woodingdean, turn right at the traffic lights and the Racecourse is approximately one mile on your left-hand side. If you're coming from the seafront head for the Brighton Palace Pier before driving eastbound along Marine Parade. Turn left at the first set of lights into Lower Rock Gardens. Turn right at the second set of lights into Edward Street, then first left into Freshfield Road. The Racecourse is at the top of the hill.

Train

Brighton is less than an hour from London by train and there are services from Victoria, London Bridge and Kings Cross. There are also frequent coastway services operating from Eastbourne, Lewes, Hastings, Worthing and Portsmouth.
