Event Information

The biggest and best book fair on the south coast is back! This is our fourth year and the Brighton Book Fair is now a favourite with dealers and collectors alike. This year’s event promises to be bigger than ever and if you have not visited us before then you’re in for a treat – it’s like a massive second-hand bookshop coming to town for just one day!

The main hall up at the Racecourse will be packed with lovely old books, maps, prints, posters, postcards, ephemera and more. You’ll find everything from ancient handwritten documents to kitschy paperbacks. There’s something to suit all tastes and all pockets.

Brighton Racecourse is the perfect venue. It is on the edge of town so driving is easy and there is free parking all day long. There is also a great café and snack bar so you can make a day of it.  Please get in touch with the organiser, Jeremy Carson of The Antiquarian Book Company, for more details or see our facebook page at brightonbookfair.

Driving

Brighton Racecourse is easy to reach from the A27 Brighton bypass. If you are approaching Brighton on the A23 you need to go east on the A27. Head for signs directing you to Sussex University and take the B2123 to Woodingdean, turn right at the traffic lights and the Racecourse is approximately one mile on your left-hand side. If you're coming from the seafront head for the Brighton Palace Pier before driving eastbound along Marine Parade. Turn left at the first set of lights into Lower Rock Gardens. Turn right at the second set of lights into Edward Street, then first left into Freshfield Road. The Racecourse is at the top of the hill.

Train

Brighton is less than an hour from London by train and there are services from Victoria, London Bridge and Kings Cross. There are also frequent coastway services operating from Eastbourne, Lewes, Hastings, Worthing and Portsmouth.
