RARE ORIGINAL WANTED POSTER FOR A HEINOUS CRIME AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF THE SHROPSHIRE TOWN OF BRIDGNORTH 1866 This is a very nice item, an original very rare poster headed ”Depredations at the Bromley Hill Reservoir for Supply of Water to the Town” dated November 22nd 1866 on Sunday Night last, a most wanton and outrageous attempt was made by some person or persons to deprive the town of the usual supply of Water, by breaking up the covers to the outlet Water Pipe, used for emptying and cleansing the Reservoir NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That every effort will be used to detect and apprehend the Offenders, against whom the full penalties of the Law will be enforced Signed J. McMichael, Mayor. the poster was published in the town by Rowley Printers of the High Street, and measures 15 inches by 10 inches approx. a few creases and a few small puncture holes else in very good condition. poster will be posted rolled in a tube
