A Plan of the City of Algier 1771. Engraved by John Andrews and published by John Stockdale, London 1771. On paper size 35 by 25 cm Image size 22 by 14 cm. Scale 8,000 feet to the inch. Uncoloured. Includes a key to 12 important features including the Alcasas Palace, the Great Mosque, various castles and gates, and the Market where the Christians are sold! With a compass rose and a decorative vignette containing the title and a romantic image that seems to have little relation to the city. Foxing outside the margins of the map but otherwise in Good to VG condition.
