Album of original photographs, no date, approximately 1890, consisting of 24 Sebah & Joaillier prints, a rare panorama of Corfu by Farrougia in three images, nine art photos, and three images of Switzerland by Schroeder and Co, Zurich. Album dimensions: 30cm x 24 cm, Sebah and Joaillier and Schroeder images approximately 26.5cm x 21 cm, Farrougia Corfu approximately 38cm x 10cm when assembled from the three small loose photos. Binding: contemporary half calf, spine detached, slightly worn, album pages rather browned, Sebah & Joaillier images slightly spotted, but otherwise in good condition pasted into the album. Farrougia photographs loose, in good condition, with A Farrougia Relieur de la Cour Depot de Photographies, Corfou in a blue ink stamp to verso (as usual), and a small distributors stamp Alois Beer, k.u.k. Hofphotograph, Klagenfurt to the verso of one of them, image numbers 3457, 3458, 3459 respectively, and each are titled Corfu vom Castell. The art prints are somewhat faded, loose, consisting of photographs of oil paintings, or Greek sculpture. The three Swiss views are of Oberhafen Lac de Thoune (183); Unterlaken (278), Chemin de fer funiculaire a Murren (908). An evocative album, with some of the very finest Istanbul views that it is possible to obtain of the famous firm of Sebah and Joaillier. The small Corfu panorama is also of interest, being rather rare.
