Humphreys. 1922. ~ This copy belonged to the owner of the house Jean Ingelow Alexander (1877- 1972), with her signature dated 28 th October 1933 on the end-paper. In the prefatory note she writes: “My father had always hoped to put together the notes which he head collected on his old house... his intention has now been carried out by our friend and neighbour, Miss Gladstone...”
