Between The Woods And The Water, Patrick Leigh Fermor, John Murray, 1986, First Edition, First Impression The second book in a series of three books narrating the author's journey on foot across Europe from the Hook of Holland to Constantinople in 1993 - 34. This book begins with Fermor crossing the Maria Valeria bridge from Czechoslovakia into Hungary and ends when he reaches the Iron Gate where the Danube formed the boundary between the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and Romania. There is an owners sticker to the front end paper. In near fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The slightly toned end papers and foxed pages are free from tears. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in near fine condition with marks to the back cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
