Book Description
First edition. Large periodical with a glossy colour cover by Tom Browne, black & white title-page also by Browne. Rackham illustrated the stories 'The Christmas of the Poor Players' with 3 black & white plates and 'The Hare that Doubled' with a single page of 7 drawings. There is also a large double-page colour plate titled 'Father Christmas's Book-Tea' featuring many characters from children's literature by Rackham. A reproduction of this illustration appears opposite page 205 in Riall. Staples rusted, one leaf pages 36/37 excised, not affecting the Rackham illustrations. Very scarce.
