Book Description

The sole UK printing published by The Boar’s Head Press, Devon in 1932. Number’22’ of only 100 copies signed by the author and illustrator. Further warmly inscribed on the front blank end-paper by them to (Prof.) Lewis Horrox, who was a Cambridge classicist (and Chair of English at University College S.W.). Striking B/W illustrations by Lettice Sandford. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Only the slightest of fading of the colouring to the spine and outer front cover edge. Gilt titling and decoration remains bright. Top edge gilt with outers untrimmed. Just the merest hint of spotting in a few places. The book is protected in a removable mylar cover. A handsome production and now increasingly scarce.
