Dealer Notes
An attractive little volume of advice from the author primarily to his son but also to the general reader. A Preface addressed by the author to his son urges him to follow the advice set out in the book if he wishes to live a wise, good, useful and happy life. The title page includes the maxim, Be ye as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves, and the book starts with the adage, Wish not so much to live long as to live well.
