Book Description
(GERMAN TEXT) Photo. & b/w. map end-papers. Helmut Säuberlich is the last of the "old guard" of the great DB photographers of the post-war years. Unique photographs are reminiscent of locomotives, trains, railway stations kilns and routes that have long since been shut down. It is of course primarily an illustrated book with mostly full-page photos in landscape format. In addition, Helmut Säuberlich describes how his pictures came about, which cameras and processes he used and how difficult it was to get hold of material in the post-war period. Almost all locomotives and railcars from the period 1945-1970 appear in the picture section. Also exotics, such as B. the VT 10 501 and the rail road bus are mentioned.
