First edn, London, Thompson & Burlington Gallery, Piccadilly, 1876. Large format, 25 x 34 cm, i, xii, 22 attractive mounted colour plates by Walton, each accompanied by a page of text by Bonney. Near fine in original decorative brown cloth gilt. Minor light spotting not affecting the mounted colour plates, Small inscription, David Hartley of Roose. All edges gilt. Elijah Walton (1832 – 1880) was a British landscapist, and best known for his fine landscape paintings of mountain scenery including the Alps. Scarce.
