The boards are clean with a little rubbing to the spine tips and corners. There is a small patch of fading at the foot of the spine which matches a chip in the dust jacket. Internally there is a very little light spotting to the endpapers. There is a newspaper article about Fleming meeting Churchill when he was young pinned to the half title page and the rust marks from the pin have marked the facing page. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable clear cover (not shown), is a little rubbed on the spine tips and corners and edges with a little toning to the spine and top edge of the rear panel with minor loss to the spine tips and corners. There is a little chipping and a few closed tears along the top edge. The longest being 1.7cm. All in all an excellent scarce copy of this biography of the Nobel prize winner signed by its subject.
