Dealer Notes
Lottery publicity explored every technique of contemporary popular literature. Give-aways included puzzles, jokes, cartoons and caricatures, jingles and poems, mock-valentines, and other attention-giving novelties. In many respects lottery campaigns were well in advance of their time. In scope, ingenuity, and not least in volume their operations far exceeded everything that advertising had hitherto conceived.
