Book Description
4to. First edition. Original black cloth, gilt, with portrait medallion to front board. Text in German. Four colour plates, including the portrait frontispiece, and a large number of half-tone images throughout. Gilt on spine a bit dulled. Bottom corners rubbed. Small indentation to the middle of the fore edge. Ink stamp of Dr. J. Alber (dentist) to half-title. Near fine.
Dealer Notes
A large and handsome volume devoted to the life and work of Zeppelin and his airships. Many of the photographs are amazing: the Goodyear blimp is dwarfed by it when a Zeppelin reaches Los Angeles on its world tour and it’s bigger than the skyscrapers as it hangs over Manhattan. Uncommon.
