This is an original handwritten illuminated manuscript document given on behalf of the inhabitants of British Guiana in Georgetown on 12th January 1889 to Sir William Frederick Haynes-Smith who was the then Attorney General of Guyana,
The document thanking for his great service to the country and people of Guyana and congratulating him on his appointment to be the Governor of The Leeward Islands
Written on vellum, with illuminated lettering, the document measures 21.5 inches by 17 inches approx., some creasing to one corner, else in very good general condition
