Small decorative, contemporary bookseller's ticket to endpaper of Vol. 1, with inscription within cartouche reading, 'Se Vend chez Carré de la Rue Libraire Grand Place a Lille'. Short marginal tear to one leaf, repaired. A handsome set.

Text French. 2nd edition (first published anonymously in 1762), with the author's name given on title-page, and the words 'que se trouvent aux environs de Paris' ommitted from the title, otherwise identical with the first edition. Rare. Étienne Louis Geoffroy [1727-1810] was a French entomologist and pharmacist.
