Jane Austen Set ( 7 books in a Slip Case ), The Folio Society, 1978, First Editions, Second Impressions Rarely out of print since her death in 1817, Austen's six novels have earned her acclaim amongst critics and scholars for her use of social commentary, realism, wit and irony. This set consists of her six novels, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion and a book of her Shorter Works. All the books are in fine condition, the bindings straight and tight, the brightly coloured boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The top edges retain their original grey tint. The slip case is in near fine condition with white marks to the side and marks to the inside edge of the top board. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
