Bound in original yellow card printed wraps, as issued. Thread sewn. This is Number 8 of THE ARIEL POEMS. No date [1927]. First Edition. Unpaginated, 4pp. Illustrated with drawings by E. McKnight Kauffe, b&w illustration on cover, coloured illustration inside. Size small 8vo, 18.5 x 12cm. In very good condition, slight marking/wear to wraps, faint creasing to top corner, though barely noticeable to the naked eye. Signed George Every S.S.M Michaelmas 1933 on ffep. A nice example with an interesting provenance.

George Every (1909-2003) British Historian, Theologian, Writer on Christian Mythology and Poet.
A member of the Society of the Sacred Mission at Kelham, Nottinghamshire from 1929.
Every met T.S. Eliot at Kelham, becoming close friends. He introduced Eliot to the history of Little Gidding, later to become the title for one of Eliot’s Four Quartets.
Every also corresponded with C.S. Lewis and Yves Congar, and wrote on the work of Charles Williams.
