4to. Ff [1], 85 leaves, 64 misnumbered 46: A-K? L?, collated complete and correct. Later half calf, boards rubbed, sometime rebacked, marbled endpapers, faded library stamp to title page, black letter, occasional woodcut capital, early underlining to folios 6-7, 11, et seq with occasional words of clarification in margins in two different hands, the one secretarial the other not, (eg f. 30: License for alienation expressly gotten rid of by die st Car. 2), light water stain in lower margins 40-50 and 66 onwards, without affecting text. Bookplate to inner pastedown of the Fox Pointe Collection. Sir William Staunford was an important figure in the emergence of secondary sources of English law during Elizabethan times, and the author of the first text book. This is the third edition of the Prerogative, the last of the sixteenth century. ESTC S117814. Beale T495 (but with the numbering starting on 6 not 5).
