Engraved bookplate of Max Fabrice to front endpaper, later bookplate of Robert Hayhurst to flyleaf verso, early booklabel Schlossgotlieben b. Taegerweilen im Thurgau, Schweiz, small stamp of a coronet to title page, manuscript page in German to front, one page notes in French in manuscript to rear. Pollnitz was an unscrupulous German adventurer, who wrote various accounts of his travels, often unreliable. La Saxe Galante is an account of the love life of Augustus the Strong, the elector of Saxony and King of Poland, plagiarised from la Princesse de Cleves.
