The author’s account of his visit to Lucerne, Rigi, Pilatus, Altdorf, Andermatt, Meiringen, Grindelwald, the Wengern Alp, Berne, Zermatt and Basle. Along the way, Manton Smith mentions the various peaks and Alpine sights, albeit interfused with religious sentiments. 6pp of the book are given over to musical settings of the author’s songs, the final 5 leaves have advertisements. The book is rare, with only two copies of the book’s first edition listed by COPAC (BL, National Library of Scotland, Spurgeon’s College), and none by Worldcat.
