Lob Lie-by-the-Fire or, The Luck of Lingborough.
Book Description
illustrations and text printed in brown throughout, the odd pale spot to a couple of pages, half-title browned through flyleaf,
Dealer Notes
The copy of illustrator Gwen Raverat, with her ownership inscription to the flyleaf - whether her interest in the book was in the engraved illustrations or the text (she had multiple Ewing titles in her collection) is hard to deduce; the same pairing had earlier produced ‘Daddy Darwin’s Dovecote’, which if only in the nomenclature might have had some resonance for the later illustrator (née Gwendolen Darwin).
