Manuscript Georgian/early Victorian “Charades” game .

Book Description
Manuscript game. Twenty five numbered cards, all present. Puzzle questions written neatly in ink on pink embossed purpose-made cards, several lines to each card, some in the format “ my first is in…” etc. lean condition, without creases or tears, and with only minor foxing intermittently. Contained in the original hand made box, showing signs of repaired damage, and a worn label to the top of the cover which would have read “ charades”, now missing a couple of letters. The game could be played as a conversation piece in a small group or pair. We are finding it increasingly difficult to find manuscript parlour games in any condition. These are Very Good plus in a Good box. No clues in the text as to date, but we think perhaps 1830-40?
