Hardback. First edition in unclipped dust jacket of this Booker Prize shortlisted novel. Filmed in 2005 starring Joan Plowright and Rupert Friend. Pictorial dust jacket illustrated by Adrian Daintrey who was better known as a portrait and landscape painter. The illustration wraps around the front and back of the dust jacket. Purple boards with printed black label and gilt titles to spine are very clean though with a slight ding to the tail of the spine. Foxed to top edge of pages. Dust jacket is tanned to the spine and slightly faded to the spine.
