Book Description

1st Edition, 1st Impression. 19.8 x 13.8cm blue cloth covered boards with blue stamped vignette to the front and titles to the spine. Map endpapers, 136pp with black and white photographic frontispiece and numerous black and white illustrations by Molly Blake throughout. Signed and inscribed by the author to the title page. With original unclipped jacket priced at 6/- net. Together with a press release from University of London Press concerning the book and three letters, the first being a hand signed letter from the author to Hannah Newlands gifting the book and asking her to ring about a proposed talk to the Women’s Press Club. The second letter is from Selfridges asking Miss Newlands for publicity for their Muffin the Mule books signing and a copy of a reply from Newlands. A near fine book noting only a touch of spotting to the very edge of the text block in an excellent jacket which is bright and unfaded with a touch of spotting and the merest hint of rubbing to the spine tips and corners. All in all an excellent signed 1st Edition copy with accompanying letters concerning this, probably the first star of British children’s television .
