First edition, first printing of Heaney's fourth regularly published collection and one of his major achievements, which was also the first to directly address The Troubles. Publisher's original blue cloth, gilt titles to spine; pp. 73. An about very good copy in a like, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains tight and sturdy, light shelfwear to board extremities, a few spots of discoloration to front panel of the dust jacket. Internally very good. Slightly ugly scuff mark to verso the title page. A couple of tea stains on a couple of pages. Relevant pencil annotations on the Bog Queen.
