Book Description

A really lovely copy of the 1947 edition of this classic of Rural life in the early 19th Century in a small Berkshire village. A most attractive binding, green cloth with darker green leather spine and gilt titles. The spine itself has sunned to a pleasing olive shade; see image. Top edge gilt. There are 30 essays in all complemented by 25 superb Woodcuts by Joan Hassall.
