Book Description
Peter DeWint was a major proponent of the early 19th century watercolour tradition. relatively little has been revealed of the painter's life and wider influences that directed his career as a landscape painter. This book seeks to re-present and re-evaluate the artist & his work, and so offer a re-assessment of his approach to painting and his contribution to British art history. It also includes a full reprint of his wife's memoir.
