First edition. 4to. Recent panelled calf, spine with raised bands, old gilt lettered red label preserved, all edges red. Frontispiece, engraved title, folding map of Palestine and 27 double plates comprising 19 maps (unusually many with old hand colouring, likely 19th century), a plan of Jerusalem, 4 plans and views of temples and the Tabernacle plus 3 plates illustrating the habits of the Jews, the "pantheon" of Jewish idols of antiquity and the "Fragmenta Sacra". Palestine map with judicious repairs to the folds, an attractive copy.
