First edition, first printing. Reproduced from the original editions (more than 400 plates in more than 70 portfolios) published between 1778 and 1789. About 250 of the later plates were re-issued in portfilios between 1911 and 1914 with no known complete set. Fine. Hand coloured. This is Plate 307. The caption under the image is in archaic French and reads "La jeune amazone se reposant des fatigues de la chasse. Elle est coeffee d'un Chapeau surmonte de Plumes et Panaches; et est vetue d'un Carracot a revers, avec les Manches a l'Angloise"
