Book Description

The second UK issue which was printed at The Curwen Press for Carter, Stabler & Adams, UK in 1924. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. 16 x 10 cm. 10 pages within printed card covers. Slight offsetting to the first and last page from the text on the verso of the printed card covers. Striking cover designs and coloured illustrations internally by Edward Bawden. Extremely scarce to find in any issue. With small print runs, it is presumed that the booklet was so successful that the second and third issues were printed soon after the first issue was published. Subsequent issues only differ from the first issue with the presence of the attribution of the booklet design to Edward Bawden on the title page. One of Bawden's earliest commissions, being only 21 years of age. A very scarce collectible ephemeral item. Protected in an archival folder.
