Scenes of Industry Displayed in the Bee-Hive and the Ant-Hill published by Harris London circa 1825. In stiff illustrated boards size 17 by 11 cm. New leather spine with a gold-stamped title. 212 pages. Includes a series of uncoloured engravings. An early biology or nature book intended for the education and improvement of the young that focuses on the lives of the ant and the bee. It takes the form of a series of questions posed by the fictitious Letitia and the responses of the narrator. The front endpaper has a dedication in ink dated 1827. The corners are scuffed and the edges of the boards chipped. Some foxing to text but binding sound and overall Good condition.
