The sole UK printing published by C W Beaumont, 75 Charing Cross Rd, London in 1928. Number ‘289’ of only 500 copies issued (ten of which were not for sale). The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Original Illustrated board covers, string ties and contents complete. Mild edge wear with a little rubbing to the board corners and edges. Light age related markings to the boards. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Some light toning and a little spotting to the page edges internally. Serge Lifar was a Ukrainian dancer, choreographer, and one of the greatest male ballet dancers of the 20th century. The sixteen full page B/W drawings by Eileen Mayo are very striking and complete. A very scarce title with only 3 copies having appeared at auction in the last 10 years.
