Small album containing a collection of watercolours and pen + ink drawings of ships, also places and plants of South Africa. Painted onto the album pages are approximately 20 watercolours of ships and places around South Africa in the 1920s together with 13 of flowers. There are 12 loosely inserted pen and ink drawings of ships from the 1890s. 4 watercolours on thin card of ships from the 1890s. 11 plant leaves also from the 1890s which have been painted with ships. 2 additional leaves which are very damaged. There is one newscutting and signs of removal of another. Some staining from the leaves and from a few pieces of old tape. The album is bound in very worn cloth which is also browned and stained.
