The Bafut Beagles, Gerald Durrell, Rupert Hart-Davis, 1954, First Edition, First Impression This book tells the story of the author's 1949 expedition to the Cameroons collecting animals for his zoos accompanied by Kenneth Smith. The book is illustrated with forty drawings by Ralph Thompson and was first published by Hart-Davis. There is a neat owners names to the front end paper. The book is in near fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. The toned end papers and pages are free from marks and tears. The top edge retains its original green tint. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with loss to the top edge of the front cover, a small nick to the bottom edge of the front cover, loss and nibbling to the top edge of the spine, loss to the bottom edge of the spine, a crease to the top edge of the back cover and loss to the bottom edge of the back cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
