Ben Humble was a prolific climber and mountaineer especially in the Ilse of Skye region. He never carried water when completing a Traverse of the Skye Ridge but recommended 'Carrying a straw to suck water out of any small puddles of water he found on high on the rocky ridge'. Humble was a great raconteur; asked why he retired from dentistry, he replied; ' He was becoming deaf and he no longer could hear the buggers screaming!'
A wonderful character and exponent of the delights of climbing in Skye.
A great addition to any library of mountaineering and Scottish climbing. Would make a special gift or as a presentation.
