This is two volumes. Volume I (1895) The Consultation Books for the years 1704 to 1710, with an intorductory account of the early history of the English in Bengal, and addenda giving new extracts from Thomas Pitt's correspondence, and new accounts of Bengal in the seventeenth century. Volume II, Part I (1900) The Consultations Books for the years 1711 to 1717, with an introductory account of Calcutta under the rule of Weltden, Russell, and Hedges, and biographical and other illustrative addenda. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are generally in good order, just somewhat grubby. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spines are age darkened with bumping to ends. **It should be noted that volume II has extensive worm damage.** Very many of the pages have been eaten through and would need taping if the volume needs more than the very lightest use. Previous owner's mark to fep on both volumes. Pagination: vol I - xviii, 404 pp + xiv pp index. Vol ii - lxx, 386 pp, xvi pp index. Additional photos are available upon request.
