This is a 2 volume 1st edition H/Bk set of “The Franco-Prussian War: its Causes, Incidents, and Consequences” edited by Captain H. M. Hozier, F.C.S., F.G.S. With The Topography and History of The Rhine Valley by W. H. Davenport Adams and published by William Mackenzie in 1872. There are 448 and 296 pages covering the war and 120 pages on The Rhine Valley. There are no marks or inscriptions in the volumes which are in good conditon. They are bound in dark cloth with red leather spines with gold tooling and corners. The leather has a split of just over an inch at the top of volume one but the binding of both volumes is tight and there is some rubbing and bumping to the edges and corners.
