Willox, John. The Glasgow Tourist and Itinerary: being a complete handbook to the history, manufactures, public institutions, scenery of Glasgow, and the surrounding districts, consisting of a series of walks in the city, and excursions through the adjoining country. 129, [1], [4]pp adverts., half-title., engraved frontispiece, 13 plates, folding map, and folding plan on the rear inner board showing “the course of the Union Canal & Railways.” Large engraved label for W.H. Lizars, printed in red and black on the inner front board. Original gilt lettered and blind stamped cloth, wear to head and tail of the spine, with some rubbing and mottling to the rear board. Lacks the front-end-paper, and some foxing.

~ At the end of the book blank pages have been bound in, most probably for the visitor to make notes. The book is set out as a series of walks around the city and further excursions round and about. Here the owner has written “visited 10 & 11 June 1881", and lists the places he has seen.
