Printed by and for J. Nichols, London, 1784, 1st edition. Fairly recent rebinding in quarter calf with marbled boards. Gilt lettering on red patch to spine. 10.75ins x 8.5ins, vii, (i), 247pp plus 4 plates and the pedigrees of three families, the Cloptons, the Drurys and the Cullums.The pedigree of the Drurys consists of 4 parts, thus there are 6 pages of pedigrees in total. Verso of half title has been strengthen with paper to repair old tears. Some browning of pages but overall a VG copy of the first edition in a attractive new binding.
