1795-1815 First Edition, 4 volumes in 8, large folio, 521 engraved plates, (without the portrait of John Smith in volume 4 part 1, p. 185, as usual, the same portrait , as called for, at p 1041 in volume 4 part 2), 19th century dark olive green morocco, lavish gilt backstrips by Tout, (with receipt for binding preserved, a few manuscript notes inserted including an A.L from Samuel Pipe Wolfersta ( a subscriber) to Nichols dated 29th October 1803, regarding corrections and notes on Seile House and another from Nichols dated 13th may 1803. A spectacular set of this great county history beautifully preserved in a super Victorian binding
