By John Bruce
With Map and Plates
Brighton Published by J. Bruce, 3 Somerset Place.
Published in Brighton in 1833, this is a very scarce early revised printing of Bruce’s History of Brighton, updated to the year of publication, bound in cloth with later spine title label, illustrated with a folding hand coloured Map, and Eight Hand Coloured Plates.
Editions of the hand-coloured issues seem to be particularly uncommon.
7 inches tall approx. with the original paper title label to upper cover, 124 pages.
Some marks to covers, internally mild evidence of an old glue repair to inner front hinge, old ownership name to front endpaper, the front endpaper has some creasing, a few marks within and minor foxing within, else contents generally clean and in good condition.
