Printed slip pasted to the title page reads ‘The Profits of this Publication, should there be any, will be applied towards the building of a Vicarage House, in the Parish of Malew’.
Disbound from a collection of pamphlets formerly in the library of Thomas Quayle. The Quayles were a most influential Manx family, founders of one of the Manx banks amongst many other achievements. Thomas was a successful barrister in London and a gentleman farmer in Suffolk. He was the author of ‘A General View of the Agriculture of the Isle of Man’ ( London 1812 ).
