The yellow D/J. front has (within the Edgar Wallace trademark crimson circle with printed signature) a colour illust. of a frightened girl facing a man with an axe, the book has damage to the spine top where some careless soul has torn the top half-inch from the spine though it remains attached, some browning of endpapers, the D/J. has an inch missing from both spine ends but is otherwise in good order with only slight edgewear, back cover & inner flaps list other titles,
